This document aims to give advice to Speech and Language Therapists involved in dual service provision to service users. The need has arisen due to the increasing numbers of families choosing to attend two services. When there is dual service, it is essential to have guidelines to ensure a high standard of shared care. This document has been prepared with the input of Down Syndrome Ireland, one of the largest groups providing private therapy to children with Down syndrome in Ireland. Speech and Language Therapy is also provided by HSE funded public services. It is anticipated that the document would advise any situation involving two service providers.
